Developed for Michael 8.1, Tans and Tones for Michael 8.1 and Friends will provide you tens of skin tones for Michael 8.1. They were built so you can browse a wide range of skin tones, from very pale to very tanned, and this is under a huge range of lighting conditions.

Based upon the wet and tanned skins shader for Genesis 8.1, all the skin tones provided can be used as-is or fine-tuned exactly the way you want using the hue, saturation, lightness, and other tan and wet look controls. You can do this directly in the surfaces editor, using the global interface or the presets of Wet and Tanned Skins for Genesis 8.1 Males. All the presets included are compatible with the wet looks and tan lines of Wet and Tanned Skins for Genesis 8.1 Males.

Exclusive bonus: 8 volume booster tools are also included, allowing you to boost in one click the tan via the translucency channel and to reach new skin tones, especially efficient for presets using high translucency levels.

Even if optimized for Michael 8.1, all the presets included can be applied on all Genesis 8 and 8.1 Male figures while keeping their original texture set. The result will depend on how different the figure you work on is from Michael 8.1, but this result can always be adjusted using the tan look shader controls. “Friends” of Michael 8.1 are figures using a similar initial shader and a texture set with tints close to the ones used by Michael 8.1 texture set.

By combining the presets and the volume boosters, you will be able to create hundreds of skin tones, but don't worry, the boosters are sorted by strength of the effect, and the presets are sorted by families, each family being more tanned than the previous one, allowing you to know exactly where you go. Each family includes several skin tones, proposing a super soft variation between each successive skin tone inside this family.

• If you want the presets to work, you must first apply the Applier “G81WT !!!!Apply Wet Tanned SkinsM” file included in the first folder of the “Wet and Tanned Skins For Genesis 8.1 Males” product.

• The skin presets are organized, in each folder, in families represented by the last letter at the name of the preset. In each folder, each time the last letter changes, you start another family. In each family you have different presets with increasing direct versus volume ratios for the skin.

• The volume boosters should not be used (will not act as they should) if the figure uses the same maps for the base color and for the translucency color.

• When you apply a preset or a volume booster, it will affect all the figures in the scene using the same texture set (the same image maps). It means that if you use two Michael 8.1 in a same scene, changing the preset for one of them will change the color of the second one too, even if one of them does not use the Wet And Tanned Skin for Genesis 8.1 shader.

• The volume booster can affect much more the last presets of the families than the first ones, simply because their translucency channel is basically more important. High volume booster will not produce good results with Strong or SuperStrong presets. When you apply a preset, you keep the volume booster you chose, so take care if your results look weird for a while, come back to the “OFF” volume booster. The same way the volume booster will affect partially any other figure with the same translucency maps present in the scene.
