dForce Suzina Hair is a versatile layered side-parted style that is the ultimate in realism. It uses Daz’s dForce Hair to give a highly realistic, dynamic, and drapable hairstyle with every hair individually rendered giving unprecedented realism. I have reviewed and tweaked every parameter of the dForce materials in order to make this hair the most realistic yet!

dForce Suzina Hair comes with a range of curls, lengths, fringe, and movement morphs to give a huge range of looks. You can use it without simulating it with the range of movement morphs included, but draping is generally recommended and there are several different hair stiffness settings to give you maximum control. And don't worry ? it simulates pretty fast!

The 34 realistic and fantasy hair colors all feature a blend of tones to give highly realistic results, plus an included choice of shines. As a bonus, there's also a range of gradient presets so you can go wild with all the different hair color effects! There are also various options for things like clumping and stray hairs for even more variety and control in the way it looks.

Suitable for contemporary characters, historical, fantasy and sci-fi, dForce Suzina Hair for Genesis 8 and 8.1 Females is the perfect way to enhance the realism of your characters.

Additional Details

  • When loaded the hair is parented to the Hair Cap which is parented to the figure. For most operations you need to select Suzina Hair, although for changing hair colors, you can have the figure, the Hair Cap or the Hair itself selected.
  • You do not always need to drape the hair as it looks good as it is and with the morphs available, you can use it as is. But for many poses, draping will be required, and there are 3 dynamic settings which progressively allow more movement, which means that they will get further from the original shape. Most morphs can be applied either before or after draping for different effects – feel free to experiment!
  • Some combinations of hair morphs and head shapes may distort the undraped hair enough so that there is poke-through, which will affect the way that the hair drapes as the hair gets “stuck” to where the poke-through is happening. If this happens, I recommend that you set up a small animation as the safest way to drape the hair. I suggest setting 91 frames, set the pose and character that you want at 60 frames and have a default pose and the character’s head dialled to zero at frame zero. The frames after 60 are to allow the hair to settle but feel free to press Escape to stop the simulation if there is no further movement or if you like the way the hair is draping already. If the final head position is very different from the default pose, either extend the period for the transition or look at repositioning the figure initially so that the head stays in roughly the same global position. Of course dynamic effects can be achieved by having the head move, turn, bend or twist between the initial and final poses!
  • Presets are included to change the way that the hair previews. You can show just the hair guides, show the generated hairs without them showing in the Iray preview (this is the default) or to show them in the Iray preview. This last option involves generating a very high number of polygons and so will slow the responsiveness of the interface and so is most useful to check how the colors will render or other post-drape options, but any changes to pose, camera position etc are best done in the default mode. The “Guide Hairs” option is useful to check for poke-through of the guides on your character.
  • There is a pause after you press render while all the hair geometry is loaded onto your graphics card. Once loaded the render times are reasonable for such a complex amount of geometry with millions of polygons.
