Additional Details

  • You do not need to simulate the clothes if you don't want to, the shirt looks great in every pose I could throw at it. The skirt holds up to most standing poses just fine, if you want sitting or kneeling it's better to simulate it. If you are going to leave the shirt or skirt unsimulated they'll look a little bit better if you change General - Mesh Smoothing - Smoothing Type in Parameters to Base Shape Matching.
  • The shirt and skirt have a shaping morphs to add thickness to the trim, it looks very nice but it MUST be left at 0 when you run the simulation, if it is dialed up previous to simulation all the goodness will just fall right out and you won't be able to get it back. There are presets for them in the Utilities folder so you don't have to go searching for the dials.
  • The Full Feet pose preset does exactly that, though it won't change the ankle's twist or side-side settings, just the up and down bend so you have less fixing to do with your poses. The Pose Only Toes preset zeros out the big toes, little toes and sets the Toes Spread pose controls to negative 50 so they fit nicely inside the shoe straps, they leave the rest of the foot bones alone. If you load the shoes after posing your character you won't have to use these as the shoes will do it automatically.
  • Standard dForce disclaimers apply: make sure your figure's skin isn't intersecting itself. Pay close attention to hands and the path they take to reach their final destination, in some cases if they're causing you issues you can make the fingers invisible in the scene tab during the simulation to avoid having to do a timeline drape. Most knee bends work fine with this skirt. Setting Collision Mesh Resolution to Viewport in the Simulation Settings tab gives the nicest results, it takes a little bit longer but it's worth it.
  • The material presets do not contain any dForce settings so if you change them to suit your taste they won't be overwritten. If you want to go back to the defaults there are presets for that in the Utilities folder. There are also two presets that just control if the waistband on the skirt is conforming or dynamic. It is set to dynamic by default to look more realistic but if you have a character with narrow hips it might cause the skirt to fall right down, in that case use the Band Dynamics OFF preset to glue it in place before simulating.
  • All the texture maps are light grey so you can change the colors to whatever you desire, if you change the base/diffuse color make sure to scroll down on the surface tab and check for any other channels that are tinted and change the hue there as well.
