Presenting Bea and Nancy's Whatnots!

Whatnots: item or items that are not identified but are felt to have something in common.

Fill your scenes with our beautiful whatnots, chotchkies, jars and vases by applying your choice of luscious colors from the large selection of shader presets.

This pack includes:

14 static props, 57 transparent Iray glass shader presets, 57 milk glass Iray shader presets, 57 bead Iray shader presets, 8 metal Iray shader presets, 2 string textures, 42 one-click textures, 12 miscellaneous textures and 24 utility files.

The utility files include a hide material, 7 bump, remove bump and five tiling options each for the transparent glass, the milk glass and the bead glass.

The beautiful gradient jpg files are what make this product unique. The glass materials are not just re-colors but have individual gradient variations that create different looks depending on what objects they are applied to and the lighting in your scene.

This gives each material a different look on different objects for ultimate versatility.

All prop smart parented lids are removable and can be manipulated.

The promotional images show all the props included, test renders of the bead material, the transparent glass material, the milk glass materials, untextured props and some of the available utility files.

This set has 42 one-click material presets. These include 3 complete textures for each prop and its smart parented lid, if it has one. These one-click materials can only be used on their respective props.

The shader presets can also be used on clothing, jewelry, gems, people and other props not included in this set. Your imagination is all that is needed.

The props are easily scaled by using the scale dial in the parameter tab. For example, you can scale the Hanging Ornament large enough for Genesis to fit inside or scale it down small enough to hold flower blossoms. The string on the ornament has a morph that helps to fit it on a hook or tree branch.

Some of the textures look the same when initially applied but the differences will become apparent when using the tiling utilities. Adding a bump map to a material with the bump utilities will give an even great choice of design.

Additional Details

  • Important Notice and Instructions:
    • If you have a Daz Studio version lower than 4.9.3 we recommend that you add your bump first, using the utility, then use the tiling utility file because it is easier to amend the bump than the tiling. Each bump file shows what it should be tiled at in its name.
    • To make changes to tiling using the Image Editor go to your Surfaces tab and highlight your material. Scroll down to Base Bump and click on the small triangle on the left side of the slider to expand the options. Choose Image Editor and a pop up window will open. Click on the Instance Tiling tab to expand it. Change the Horizontal Tiles and Vertical Tiles to the same number as in the name of the bump that you chose.
    • As an example, if you choose Bump Stripe Vertical Tile 3.duf, then you would change the horizontal and vertical tiling to 3 inside the image editor's instance tiling tab per the instructions directly above.
    • It is easy to apply one shader preset to all material zones in a prop and its lid at the same time. As an example, load the Two Handle Jar. It will load with its lid into the scene tab.
    • Expand the jar to show the lid parented to it and select both the base and the lid by holding the CTRL key as you select them. Open the Surfaces tab and highlight all of the mat zones by using the shift key or CTRL key. Click on the shader preset that you want to apply and you are done.
