Product Information

Take a step back in time to the carefree days of the past when a visit to the soda fountain or ice cream parlor was a popular pasttime for children and families everywhere.

Miranda's Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor is a stand-alone environment lovingly crafted down to the last detail. Featuring checkerboard floors, soft pastel colors, vintage inspired artwork and 50's style diner seating, Miranda's is sure to fill your needs. Whether rendering a modern scene with a nostalgic flair, or a scene straight from the days of yore, this set is the perfect addition to your environment library.

Miranda's includes textures and materials for rendering in Iray or in 3Delight and comes with preset scenes for either render engine, complete with lighting, materials, and render settings. Additionally, several texture options have been provided to truly customize the look of the ice cream parlor. Choose either checkered, all-black, or all-white floors, pink, green or white walls, and either white-washed, dark brown, or golden maple woodwork. Combine them any way you want, then finish it off with pink, green or white curtains (that open and close) and a choice of pink, aqua or red vinyl seating. Mix a little, or mix a lot, there are many options.

Additionally, several ice cream treats are provided, with special ice cream shaders that allow you to choose how your treat will look. Included are banana split, sundae, milkshake, rootbeer float, single dip dish, as well as a single or double scoop waffle cone. Note that the materials for these treats have been optimized to look their best in Miranda's Parlor, so adjustments may be needed to use these props in other scenes.

Finally, just to make it more universal, the menu board that hangs above the ice cream counter has 5 available languages, each translated by a native speaker. You can choose English (default), German, Spanish, French or Italian.

So, take a trip down memory lane. Bring your sweetheart, or your family, to Miranda's for an old-fashioned day of fun.

Additional Details

  • General Product Notes
    • As stated in the product description, all props have been made to look their best in the Miranda's Ice Cream Parlor set.
    • There may be some adjustment to materials needed if rendering in other settings, including a blank scene with no background. This is because of the reflective nature of many of the materials. They need something to reflect, or may not look right.
  • Scene Presets
    • Two fully loaded scenes have been provided to load either Iray or 3Delight set.
    • The scenes include lights and render settings.
    • It is recommended you start with the full scene loaded, then add ice cream props where needed.
    • To reduce render time, it is also recommend that you delete (not hide) anything in the scene which is not seen by camera.
    • Renders with 3 human figures have been possible without deleting or hiding additional props, but it is still recommended to help speed up your renders.
    • A photo of a parking lot has been preloaded into the Environment Tab of Daz Studio … this is to give something of interest outside of the windows and door. If you choose to use a HDR environment, be sure to turn the parking lot off.
    • The lighting for the Iray version has been set to have a slight tint to add to the “vintage” feel of the ice cream parlor. You can change this simply by adjusting the diffuse color of the Ceiling Lights and the SunLight
  • Props & Prop Preload Sets
    • Props load in with Iray materials applied, so you must convert them to 3Delight with the provided material presets.
    • Exceptions to this are the Grouped Props, some of which have 3Delight materials upon loading.
    • Any props with a green background on the thumbnail load in with Iray materials … any with a pink background load in with 3Delight materials.
    • Some props on shelves or in other locations in the parlor have been scaled larger or smaller to look good in the spot they are preloaded in, and may need to be scaled to fit your characters if you are taking them from their preloaded location to use with human figures.
    • Props added manually are scaled at 100% (such as ice cream cones and milkshakes, etc) and should match your characters already.
