Cantering Action is an 15-pose motion cycle for the DAZ Horse 2 and includes 12 Genesis rider poses.

The sequential poses give you a variety of choices for portraying single horses, with or without riders, as well as for stampeding herds and charging troops. The sequences are ideal for multiple comic book frames. And the cycle is suitable as basic animation key-frames.

The DAZ Horse 2 pose series features a series of horse action and drama for every equestrian adventure imaginable. All motion cycles are based on the stop-motion photography of Eadweard Muybridge.

This series includes basic action-cycles for Walking, Trotting, Cantering, Galloping, and Jumping horses. Each set is also designed to merge with others by transiting from certain key-frames. The horse can go from standing to walking to galloping (trotting and cantering) to jumping. It's a unique presentation of motion poses. There is a lot of latitude for customizing the poses and the combinations.

Cantering Action can start and end with a standing horse pose for a complete cycle of movement. Or it can be cycled into a continued canter. Or it can be merged with another action sequence.

Partial poses to seat riders on a zeroed horse are included for Genesis Basic Male and Female, Genesis V4 and M4, and Genesis V5 and M5. As partial poses they can seat your other Genesis poses on the horse. There are also basic poses for cantering riders.

  • These poses are designed for specific shapes, use with other shapes may require adjustment.
  • All bareback riders are posed nude. Adjust for clothing. There is some slight compression/collision in the riders' buttocks and thighs for a natural look to the seating.
  • No mane or tail poses are included. Adjust rider hands for different mane configurations.
  • The Canter Cycle starts from 2 standing poses, Cantering 01.duf and Cantering 02.duf.

Cantering 04 and Cantering 013 are similar poses.

After Cantering 013, cycle back to Cantering 04 and repeat poses.
To end the canter after Cantering 014, apply poses Cantering 15 and 16.
  • For cantering sequences you can add more neck motion and increase the forward distance between poses for the appearance of greater speed.
  • To merge cantering with the galloping cycle, go from Cantering-09 to Galloping-03 and continue the galloping sequence.
  • The Genesis bareback rider poses are seated on the Cantering-11 horse pose, and are designated like “Rider C-11 V4.”
    • Attach the rider's Body to the Horse's Pelvis as Parent on the Galloping-13 horse. The seating will fit other galloping poses. Adjust the rider's hands to your mane pose.
  • Apply a partial rider pose to seat a Genesis figure on a zeroed horse.
    • Or, apply a Genesis action pose, then apply the partial rider pose.
    • Attach the partial Rider Body to the Horse Pelvis-Parent.
    • Apply an action horse pose.
    • Adjust the upper rider pose to fit as necessary.
    • Move the horse to relocate both figures.
  • FOR EXAMPLE:
  • Apply a spear thrower pose (or a banner waver, or a horn blower) to a Genesis figure.
  • Apply the partial seated pose to the appropriate character.
  • Apply the Cantering-11 pose to the horse and attach the rider to the horse.
  • Adjust the rider's empty hand to a mane-gripping pose. (You can save out these hand poses of the riders to facilitate a new grasp.)
  • Apply any other galloping pose. Some hip or grip adjustments may be necessary.
  • Partial rider poses are intended to be a “head start” in posing Genesis figures to the horse, using the variety of your present collection of Genesis poses. Have fun!
