Product Information

HD BODY BURNS 2 for Genesis 8 & 8.1 Males is a collection of 14 body burn scars that cover the torso, pelvis, legs, and more, created through the careful combination of HD morphs, Geoshells, and LIE material presets for flesh texturing. In addition, we have included a mirror option of the burns for a total of 28 HD Morphs. And because we know characters come in all colors, we have included material settings to be applied to the Geoshell to ensure the textures will blend with light, mid, and dark-skinned characters. Since the texture is applied to a Geoshell wearable with even UVs, we have also included a ton of utility presets to tweak your results to achieve your vision. We have likewise added presets for use with 8.1 characters. Since the textures are 8K in resolution, we built the product in a way to reduce system resources by having a single map per channel containing all the textures and then using LIE to only build the cutout mask of your choice (each mask corresponding to one of the morphs). For your convenience, we have also included several pre-made masks so you can quickly apply all the burns, apply all the torso or back burns, or even burn the entire leg(s) of your character. In addition, we have included a Bonus Geoshell with some extra Bonus Presets that will allow you to combine this pack with the previous pack HD BODY BURNS for Genesis 8 & 8.1 Male(s) without the need of applying 2 different Geoshells. The Bonus Geoshell textures are built through LIE so the previous pack is required to use any of the presets marked with a “B” (Bonus) on the icon. However, aside from the Bonus Presets, this is a stand-alone pack. So while we added the previous pack as a requirement, you don't need it unless you also want to apply the arm, hands, and neck burns included with the first pack. In total, you get 40 Shaping Presets, 4 Wearable Geoshell Presets, 8 Opacity Presets, 3 Offset Presets, 6 Material Presets, 3 Subdivision Scripts, 16 Tweak Presets (Intensify the Burn, Neutralize Burns, Add Gloss, and their removers), 78 LIE Iray Material Presets (Masks), 8 Bonus LIE Iray Material Presets, and 10 Normal and Displacement Presets. With the ability to mix, match, and even stack Geoshells, the possibilities for variation and customization are endless! And since these are built on a Geoshell in a non-destructive way, you will be able to further tweak and refine using the Surface Pane to your heart's content, knowing that your character’s skin settings will not be affected! Like with our other packs, these can be combined to help add valuable subtext to your images, allowing you to build characters marked by hardships and pain. They ultimately must wear the badges life has bestowed upon them, and whether they wear them with pride, anger, shame, or pain is up to you! Note: It is important to select the right preset for your character. Using the presets for Genesis 8 on an 8.1 character will result in seams. We have also included a PDF file that explains each preset with an icon to open the readme right from within Daz Studio. Important: The Hip and Butt Burn Presets could not be shown in promos due to the store regulations, but they are included. The difference between the Leg Presets and Full Leg Presets may not be apparent in the promos for the same reason. Basically, the Leg Presets start from the thigh down, whereas the Full Leg Presets also include the hip and butt morphs & textures.

Additional Details

  • You can also find this information in a handy PDF Read-Me File (HDBodyBurnsM02_ReadMe) located:
  • “Data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 8/Male/Morphs/FenixPhoenix/HD Body Burns 2 for G8s Male/
  • This is NOT a merchant resource. This product should be used in accordance to DAZ Studio’s EULA. Which means, you cannot resell these textures or use them on a character you will give away for free or sell. The textures should not be used to create photoshop wound brushes either.
  • The following information details the folder structure for “BODY BURNS for Genesis 8 & 8.1 Male(s)” and should serve as an overview of the product:
  • HD MORPHS:
    • “People/Genesis 8 Male/Shapes/FenixPhoenix/Body Burns 2”
    • You will find the dials located in the parameters or shaping tab under: Actors > Back/Chest/Feet/Hip/Legs/Waist > Burns.
    • You can also type “MBB2” (Male Body Burns 2) in the search box within the parameter tab (Windows > Pane > Parameters) to easily access all the dials at once.
    • We have added a flame icon for easy identification.
  • IRAY & LIE MATERIAL PRESETS:
    • You will find four folders in your “Content Library” under the following path: “People/Genesis 8 Male/Materials/FenixPhoenix/Body Burns 2”
  • ———————
  • 01 Prepare |
  • ———————
    • (01) You will find three scripts for setting your figure’s SubDivision Level. The SubDivision determines how many polygons your figure has. With your character selected, click on any of them to determine the quality. The higher the SubD Level, the better the HD Morph will look at the expense of longer render times. Some HD characters already load with a high SubD Level. If so, you may not need to use these scripts at all.
    • You can check the subD Level by selecting your character and looking at the parameters tab (windows > panes > parameters), under General > Mesh Resolution. So be sure to check the parameters and manually adjust, as necessary. We recommend keeping the Render SubD Level to 4 max & perhaps setting the SubDivision Level to 2-3 to see the morph applying in the viewport.
    • (02) Next, you will find two wearable presets which will apply a Geoshell around your character. Select the appropriate preset. Every other preset should be applied to the “MBB Body Burns” Geoshell from here on out. So, remember to keep the Geoshell Wearable Selected. Also, make sure to change the collision setting of your clothing to the Geoshell in case there is clipping.
    • (02.2) We have also included three utility presets to move the Geoshell closer to the body. You can always set the offset value manually by selecting the Geoshell and then accessing the Parameters Pane > General > Mesh Offset. Playing with this value can help with clothing collision.
    • (02.3) The next set of Presets will apply different material settings to your Geoshell. Select the one that best fits your character’s skin. You can always apply a LIE Mask to the Geoshell and then come back and apply the different materials settings so you can see/tests the effect.
    • (02.4) These LIE Iray Presets will apply second layer of texture to your diffuse map for a more intense look/color. You can remove the effect by using the “Remove Burn Intensity” Material Presets. Keep in mind that using the LIE Remover Script will also remove the Burn Intensity.
    • (02.5) We have included a preset to add a bit more gloss to the burns. Again, you can turn it on and off without having to build your burns from scratch.
  • —————————
  • 02 LIE Burn Masks
  • —————————-
    • (03) The following two folders contain the Masks. We have contained the 8.1 Presets in a different folder for your convenience. It is important that you select the appropriate presets to avoid seams. So, if you are using an 8.1 Character, you need to use the Presets marked with an 8.1.
    • (03.1) You will notice that we have included some pre-made masks for your convenience which will keep you from having to apply a lot of LIEs. These masks are also different from applying the individual Masks, as they ensure a better transition between all the masks.
    • Note that you can apply as many masks as you want to your Geoshell and then go back to the 01 Prepare Folder to tweak/refine your effect. You can switch to different skin materials, add, or remove gloss and/or intensify the wounds without those presets affecting your opacity masks.
  • ————————-
  • 03 REMOVERS
  • ————————-
    • (04) Here you will find a handy Script to remove all LIE, which should wipe your opacity mask and the Intensify effect of the Geoshell. Ensure no surface is selected before using.
    • (04.1) Next, you will find some handy opacity effects to refine the effect of the MBB Body Burns Geoshell on your character and help to blend the burn textures with your underlying character’s skin.
    • (04.2) These next presets will turn off or on the normal and displacement maps of the Geoshell. These can help with render times if you are not doing close-ups.
